Morgan Pence
Morgan Pence hails from Aledo, IL and received her undergraduate education at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign where she majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology.  While an undergraduate HHMI fellow at UIUC,  she worked at the university's Beckman Institute in the laboratory of Yuqing Yi, where she studied motor control and neutrotransmission defects of early-onset dystonia using knockout mouse  models.

Morgan's current research focuses on the molecular  mechanisms by which the pathogen Group A Streptococcus subverts soluble and cellular mediators of host innate defense.
