Nina van Sorge comes to us from the Netherlands where she received her PharmD and PhD degrees at the Utrecht University.  Nina's previous research focused on the immunopathogenesis of Guillain-Barre Syndrome and leukocyte and complement activation elicited by ganglioside specific autoantibodies.

Nina works on a diverse set of projects at the host pathogen interface including (1) The interactions of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) glycoproteins and surface carbohydrates with the blood-brain barrier; (2) The influence of anthrax toxins on host cell signaling pathways and transcriptional responses, and (3) the emergence of  resistance to beta-lactam antibiotics in GBS.
