On March 1st, 2005, thirty of John Buchanan's closest friends and associates assembled in a private room at Cozymel's Coastal Mexican Grill for a surprise party in honor of John's first day as Assistant Research Scientist at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. The event was doubly celebratory because the impending parenthood of John and lovely wife Jacinda had been announced to the laboratory just the previous day. See Professor Doran with adorable two month old Tess passing on her wisdom regarding all things maternal. As a gift from the laboratory, John received a 1911 first edition of the seminal textbook "Veterinary Bacteriology" by Buchanan ..... does anyone believe in reincarnation? |
